Social Meta Tag for Images
You can select an image to be used as the thumbnail when recipients share the Campaign.
However the image will only appear based on the specific requirements and guidelines of those social networks that support it. For example:
- Facebook will resize the selected image to 158px wide by 158px high
- LinkedIn will scale the selected image down to 180px wide, and then crop the top and bottom off to fit 110px high
- Twitter will scale selected image down to 120px wide, and then crop the top and bottom off to fit 90px high
This means before selecting an image to appear when sharing your Campaign, you may first want to prepare the image according to the image specifications in use by your primary social network:
- To optimize an image for display on Facebook, create a square image of at least 240px or select the option to generate a campaign thumbnail (see below)
- To optimize an image for display on LinkedIn, create a rectangular image of 395px wide by 241px high, or of greater size in those proportions
- To optimize an image for display on Twitter, create a rectangular image of 320px wide by 240px high, or of greater size in those proportions
To select an image to be used as the thumbnail:
- Click the Campaigns tab in the main navigation menu.
- Click the down arrow icon next to the Campaign, and select More.
- Click the Social Media tab, and then click the Social Meta Tags sub-tab.
- Click Select Image to choose an image from the Content Library based on the specifications above, or click Generate Campaign Thumbnail (an image will be created of the Campaign forcibly scaled to 240px square similar to template thumbnails).
- Click the Update Social Meta Tags button.
- Create links to social networks in your Campaign content. When recipients click these links to share the Campaign on a social network, their posts will include the selected image.
or
Share the Campaign on your own social networks.
