In v2.2.0 of the Concep Marketing solution, we introduced Dynamic Email Selection, allowing you to select specific email fields for each campaign. This feature replaces the conventional Field Mappings set at the account level, offering marketing teams enhanced flexibility. With Dynamic Email Selection, you can tailor your distribution strategy to either broaden or narrow your reach, optimizing engagement. For instance, when organizing an event for your alumni program, you might send invitations to both business and home email addresses to ensure receipt and boost attendance.
How to enable Dynamic Email Selection
Once you have installed Concep Marketing v2.2.0, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Settings area in Microsoft Dynamics
- Open the Send Accounts entity
- Click on the Send Account you would like to enable this for
- Set the "Dynamic Email Selection" field to "Yes"
- Click "Save & Close"
- Repeat these steps for each user that this should be available for
๐๏ธ | Enabling this setting overrides the value that is set for the Email field in the Field Mappings. |
Using Dynamic Email Selection
Dynamically selecting which email fields to send to is very straightforward. When you click the Send button via the "Send Email Campaign" pop-up, you will be prompted to select which email addresses you would like to send to:
๐๏ธ | If you choose multiple email fields and contacts have email addresses stored in more than one field, they will receive the same email campaign in each of their inboxes. |
Syncing Data Back into MS Dynamics
We have made small adjustments to how we synchronize and associate Concep data back into Dynamics.
Campaign Activities:
If a contact is sent an email campaign to multiple inboxes, engagement across all inboxes will be associated to the single contact record within Dynamics. When using Dynamic Email Selection, that means you might see more activities tied to contacts than usual.
Survey Responses:
Hereโs an overview of how each aspect of the survey integration functions:
-
Submissions
If a contact submits multiple responses using different email addresses, all responses will be linked to a single contact record in the CRM. During the synchronization process, we now search across Email1, Email2, and Email3 fields. Previously, we only attempted to match survey responses using the Email1 field.
-
Campaign Responses
When updating campaign response records and the associated response code, we rely on the data submitted with the most recent response. This ensures that if a contact first declines an invitation but later accepts it, their campaign response record will reflect this change.
-
Contact Creation
When our connector performs duplication checks, it will now examine the Email1, Email2, and Email3 fields before creating new contact records in the CRM. In the past, we only checked the Email1 field.
