In our December 2024 release, we launched Exclude From Sending which enables you to mark individuals as excluded - suppressing them from receiving your campaigns. This is a great way to ensure you are not targeting people you shouldn't without opting them out entirely. For example, if you have internal blocklists (such as competitor lists), you can use the Exclude From Sending function to ensure they never receive your emails.
If you are interested in using this feature, please email Support and ask them to enable Exclude From Sending.
Once enabled, navigate to a contact to exclude them. By default, all contacts are included:
To update the status contacts in bulk, gather them into a group (perhaps using Advanced Search) and click on "Update Contact Field" via the "Perform..." drop-down. In the pop-up, select the "Exclude From Sending" field and the Yes/No value accordingly:
You can see at a glance whether a contact is marked as excluded. If these contacts exist within a group you are sending to, they will be suppressed from the final recipient list (in the same way that contacts that are marked as "opted out" and "undeliverable" are removed):
