Concep Send Version 43 is now available, and we’re excited to talk about what’s changed!
Version 43 focuses on background improvements that will make the system more secure and stable so you can get the most out of it, but as well as that, there are a few changes to enhance your experience with contacts and surveys.
A Stronger, More Stable Network Load Balancer
Our biggest and most important change will happen completely in the background; you won’t even notice it. Concep Send will now use a Network Load Balancer to better distribute the traffic of Concep Send users, email recipients, and survey responders across our web servers. So that’ll mean less downtime and more uptime, to let you focus on sending out your content.
What’s uptime? Not much, what’s uptime with you?
More Secure Custom Login and Sending Domains
The new Network Load Balancer also brings our next big change. We are now deploying all sending and login domains over HTTPS. Over the last 18 months we’ve been increasing our delivery of Concep Send over HTTPS, with survey domains and the login domain being served over HTTPS. Now with the new Network Load Balancer, all sending domains and custom login domains will be served over HTTPS, making them much more secure.
The change won’t be instant. It’ll take a couple of weeks after launch to process, but we’ll let you know when it’s all done. It also means that web tracking external pages will be fully compatible with HTTPS websites. If you’d like to know more about web tracking, take a look at this knowledgebase article.
Query Strings for Surveys
Personalisation in campaigns is a great way of connecting with your audience and driving view rates and then converting those views into clicks. With query strings, you can now create tags in surveys that can be personalised in the URL to display specific names, companies or locations. All you need to do is distribute the personalised survey URL to the intended responder, and they’ll see a survey that’s personalised to them. Query strings work brilliantly with dynamic content, so if you’d like to learn more about how to set them up, check out our knowledgebase articles on query strings and dynamic content.
Disabling Survey Tracking
With the new EU regulations around data protection (GDPR) protecting your email recipients and survey respondent’s data is key. Concep Send Version 43 allows survey tracking to be disabled for specific users, or entire clients or groups. Responses to surveys are still collected, but potentially identifiable details such as location or browser information can be turned off.
To get this turned off for your users, get in touch with our Helpdesk team.
Checking Dynamic Group Criteria
Dynamic groups are a powerful tool to create groups based on specific criteria. You can use these to send campaigns to specific companies, or to contacts that have a specific area of interest. If you don’t give these groups the right name, it can be a bit annoying to work out what criteria your dynamic group is searching for. With Version 43, you can check the search criteria of your group, edit it, and run the search again, which saves it as a new dynamic group.

Exporting Shared Custom Fields
Version 42 brought in the use of shared custom fields. So if you had fields that were relevant across all of your user accounts, such as a relationship owner, you would create a shared custom field instead of every user account creating the same custom field. The information that you’ve entered or collected in these shared custom fields can be exported to each user account through the contacts tab.
