Survey collectors enable you to gauge the success of your different distribution channels. For example, if you use surveys to collect sign-ups on your website, you could create a collector for each page on your website to see which is gathering the most traction. Similarly, if you are promoting your next webinar across different social media platforms, you could create a collector for each one so you can see which one brings you the most registrations.
By default, every survey has one collector which is named "first collector".
How to add a new collector:
- Navigate to the Surveys entity
- Click the drop-down button next to the survey you wish to add a collector to
- Select "More"
- Click the "Collectors" tab
- Click the"Add Collector" button
Additional options:
You can click the drop-down arrow next to the collector to access some additional options:
- View - view the survey using this collector
- Deploy - access options to deploy the survey via this collector
- Disable/Activate - disable an active collector, or activate a disabled collector
- Edit - edit the settings and restrictions for the collector
- Rename - rename the collector
- Reset - delete all views and responses for the collector
Deploying a collector:
There are 2 methods:
- Select the "Deploy" option from the drop-down menu next to the collector and use one of these deployment options. Please note that if you use this method, any respondents will be listed as "unknown" in the survey report in the Concep Reports entity. This is a good way to collect anonymous feedback.
- Link your collector to a campaign by navigating to an in-progress campaign, creating a link, selecting the parent survey via the "Survey" tab and clicking the collector you'd like to use. This method will allow you to see exactly who the respondent is, so would be the advised method if you were collecting RSVPs for your next event.
Tracking collector usage in CRM:
In CRM, you can find a high-level overview of the distribution of responses per collector. This is displayed in the form of a pie chart. You can find it in the Submissions entity by navigating to a survey's report. Here's where you can find the chart:
You can also see which collector an individual respondent used via their survey response. There is a new field in the survey response called "Collector" which displays this information:
