Content questions in Surveys can use query strings to automatically populate survey content. This can be done to create surveys with dynamic content without having to create multiple surveys. To create a query string within a survey, you will need to do the following:
Firstly, navigate to Surveys and open up the survey where you’d like to use a query string. Then, add in a Content question, or use an existing content question. Click into the question to edit, and you will then need to add a [tag]. This can be anything, so for this guide we’ll use [name].
You will then need to create separate URLs for each personalised survey. Click on the drop down menu and click View, or head to Preview and Deploy and open the Survey URL in the Deploy Survey pop up window.
Now, amend the URL so that at the end of the survey ID you add ?tag=personalisation. In this instance, the survey URL would become: http://yourdomain.com/s/yoursurveyid?name=Amish
You’re also able to create multiple query strings in your surveys. To do this, create additional tags, and when amending the survey URL, separate the values with an ampersand. If you were to add an [event] tag to the above example, the URL would become: http://yourdomain.com/s/yoursurveyid?name=Amish&event=Dinner
A great way of distributing these links is by using Dynamic Content. For a guide on Dynamic Content, click here.
