Surveys use the default sending domain of a user account as the domain to host the survey. If a domain has been set up to be used with Concep Send, it can be used to host the survey. This guide will show you how to change the domain on a survey URL so that it uses a custom domain. If you’re unsure whether the domain you’d like to use is set up to be used with Concep Send, get in touch with our Support team.
Please Note: To find the default sending domain of a user account, create a new email campaign, and check the domain that’s used for the From field
Deploying the Survey as a URL
When deploying a survey, a generic URL is created so that it can be linked on a website or shared directly with someone.
The URL will be presented in the following format:
https://sendingdomain.com/s/surveyID
To change this, replace the sending domain with your custom survey domain, turning it into:
https://customdomain.com/s/surveyID
In the Deploy window in Surveys any time that the URL is present, for example in the Embed code, follow the above steps to ensure that the custom domain is being used.
Deploying a Survey in a Campaign
When linking a survey to a campaign, the Survey will again use the default sending domain of the user account. To change this, the URL will need to be found in the HTML.
Deploy the survey as normal, by clicking Add Link and then select your survey from the Survey subtab. When the link has been generated, click the HTML button on the editor toolbar.
Once the HTML window has opened, search for the Survey URL within the <a> tags in the HTML. This will look like:
As with the above instructions, simply replace the sending domain to the custom domain turning this:
<a href=https://sendingdomain.com/s/SurveyID/h=[hash]
Into:
<a href=https://customdomain.com/s/SurveyID/h=[hash]
In every case of creating and distributing content with Concep Send, make sure you test every campaign and link thoroughly to make sure that they are functioning as expected. If you need any help deploying your surveys, get in touch with the Support team.
